"ink dances in murasaki-shikibu"
one day, one colored ink, one genre of music, two types of string.
this is the meditative art practice I did during a challenging period as a necessary form of art therapy for my neurodivergent self.
over the course of time, the movement, mood and colors shifted, and I began to feel lighter, revived, and ready to return.
this set utilizes the Pilot iroshizuku ink series which is inspired by Japanese natural landscapes and plants.
Murasaki Shikibu was a famous Japanese novelist, poet and lady-in-waiting known for writing “The Tale of Genji.” Murasaki means “purple” and Shikibu refers to her father’s position at court. Her actual name remains unknown.
